A minimum that makes sense
A minimum cart subtotal can support an order policy where very small baskets are impractical to fulfill. For example, a store might set a $100 order minimum and explain the remaining amount before checkout.
Set minimum and maximum cart subtotals to guide order size and define which carts can proceed through supported checkout validation.

A maximum cart subtotal sets an upper limit for one cart. It applies to the current order; it does not cap a shopper’s spending across multiple orders.
Use a concise message that states the requirement and next step. Add Cart Progress on a compatible cart surface to help shoppers understand progress toward the applicable goal.
Check below, at, and above the threshold. Confirm the subtotal behavior with your store’s discounts, currencies, and checkout configuration before publishing.
Theme blocks communicate the rule. Supported published rules use Shopify Functions for checkout enforcement.
